1. Turn On the Power

If your Samsung Subwoofer stops working suddenly, it might have lost its power source. When this happens, you should ensure that the device is properly plugged into the wall outlet. But before plugging the device, confirm that the socket works.

2. Use the ID Set

According to some users, their Samsung Subwoofers have blinking blue lights. But as these lights come on, the speakers do not work. Supposing you are one of such individuals, it would help if you used the ID set of the Samsung subwoofer and soundbar.

To get started, head to the bottom of the soundbar and hit the ID set button. Then move to the subwoofer and hit the same button.

3. Reset the Subwoofer

If you are using the SmartThings app,

  1. Connect the soundbar to a Wifi network.
  2. Remove the soundbar, subwoofer, and sub speaker from the power source.
  3. Launch the SmartThings app on your mobile device.
  4. Choose the soundbar icon from the screen on your phone.
  5. Click the three dots on the upper part of the screen
  6. Click on Information – Firmware Update – Update Now
  7. Use the on-screen instructions until you have completed the update.

Supposing you are using a USB flash drive:

  1. Download and install the latest soundbar software into your computer
  2. Unzip the file and copy it to the root directory of your USB flash drive. As you send the files, do not place them in a folder.
  3. Remove the USB flash drive from the computer.

Make sure the soundbar is turned off before inserting the USB flash drive into the soundbar.

  1. Switch on the soundbar and hit the Source button on its remote
  2. Wait for the update process to be completed. Then allow the soundbar to go off.
  3. Press and hold the Play/Pause button for 5 seconds.
  4. Hit the Play/Pause button on the remote control and wait for the soundbar to come on.
  5. Reconnect the Subwoofer

If the subwoofer still acts weird, it would help if you disconnected it from other parts of the sound system. Then try to connect these devices before testing the subwoofer.

  1. Connect the soundbar and subwoofer via the power cords
  2. Insert the pointed object into the ID set of the subwoofer
  3. Hold the object until the Standby button goes off and blue light blinks rapidly
  4. Press the Mute button after the subwoofer goes off
  5. Hold the pointed tool until the ID set appears on the display of the soundbar.
  6. Switch on the soundbar as the blue light blinks

6. Contact the Samsung Support Centre
